Title: Hot Shot - A Hostile Operations Team Novel –
Author: Lynn Raye Harris
Review: HOT Shot is your typical alpha male military
style romances suspense novel.
Gina
Domenico, world famous pop stars, who found herself dating a very dangerous man
who whisked her off to his private island but when everyone on the island is
dropping like flies she runs into the jungle to get away. She gets lost running
into Jack “Hawk” Hunter and lucky for her he is one of the good guys. They find
themselves trapped in close quarters while waiting to be rescued. Finally they both fall for each other but
figure they will never see each other again.
3 and
1\2 years later Gina trust only one man to find her son but once he finds out
her secret will he ever care for her again?
Jack
once loved but it was all taken away from him in the blink of an eye. He find
that’s same connection he had with his dead wife with Gina but walks away until
3 1\2 years later she calls him for help to find her kidnapped son. His son!
Author
Lynn Raye Harrie plays on a parents greatest fear- the kidnapping of their
child which makes for some emotional moments but it is over shadowed with the
second chance romance and the author falls on the traditional if it works don’t
fix it formant with military romance stories.
Girl meets boy, hot bodies mesh. Boy leaves girl, girl has baby,
something happens to bring them together, fight, sexual tension, fight, sex,
fall in love again the end.
The
author created a very flawed character which made them be more human and less
super heroes. Jack’s emotions are all over the place creating him to be very
human and the reader will feel for Jack but they will also feel for Gina and
you find yourself rooting for her and the normal life she seeks.
The
villain and his minions are creepy and make your skin crawl from the second he
opens his mouth until he finally meets his end. The books is intense, fast paced
with lots of emotions which also bring in tons of language which I feel wasn’t
always need along with sex senses.
This
book is in a series but it is also a standalone and which I appreciated as I
didn’t read any of the other books

review is based on the ARC of HOT Shot, provided by netgalley.

Synopsis: Cool under pressure… Until now.
Hostile Operations Team sniper Jack “Hawk” Hunter is
cool, methodical, and utterly lethal. Nothing rattles Jack’s calm. But that was
before he learned he fathered a child three years ago—a child who has just been
kidnapped.
Gina Domenico is a superstar, a pop sensation with a
string of hit records. But deep inside, she’s still the lonely girl she’s
always been. When Jack saved her from an arms dealer, they spent three
unforgettable days together waiting for rescue—and Gina fell hard for the sexy
soldier before he walked away forever.
But now she needs his help and she’ll do anything to
get it. Though Jack can never forgive Gina for keeping his child from him,
he’ll do everything in his power—and HOT’s—to bring their son home safely.
Nothing is what it seems, however, and their fates
hang in the balance as someone else pulls the strings…and brings them ever
closer to an explosive confrontation that could either save their son—or cost
them everything.
