Book Review: The Saint the Intelligence Unit #5 by Kimberly Kincaid

Title: The Saint (The Intelligence Unit #5)

Author: Kimberly Kincaid

Star: 4

Review:

The Saint is part of a series by Kimberly Kincaid but can be read as a stand-alone novel. The story is very easy to follow and very much your typical romantic suspense.  Readers will know all the players right away the good, the bad and the not to be trusted.

The story moves quickly as readers get to know Liam and Carmen and the lust\love they have for each other. If you like this story, I suggest you pick up the first 4 book in The Intelligence Unit series.

Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of Kimberly Kincaid The Saint.

Synposis:

The sexy, sharp-tongued nurse is the only person who’s ever gotten under Liam’s skin. Driven him crazy.

Made him want the one thing he can’t have.

And now they have to go undercover together to catch a killer.

Liam knows he must keep Carmen at a distance, no matter how hard it is to resist. But when the scheme they uncover puts them directly in danger, distance isn’t an option.

They’ll have to fight together if they want to make it out alive.

About The Author:

USA Today best-selling author Kimberly Kincaid writes romantic suspense that sizzles and contemporary romance with heart and heat. Equal parts action and emotion, her firefighters and first responders always save the day. When she's not finding adventure with her husband, three teens, and naughty Whippets, Olive and Daisy, she can be found practicing obscene amounts of yoga, whipping up anything from enchiladas to éclairs in her kitchen, or curled up with her nose in a book.

Kimberly's series include Remington Medical, Station Seventeen, the Line series, Cross Creek, and her brand-new Intelligence Unit series. All titles stand alone for easy reading.

Book Review: Vanishing Hour by Laura Griffin

Title: Vanishing Hour

Author: Laura Griffin

Star: 5

Review:

Laura Griffin is hands down one of the best romantic suspense writers to date! Vanishing Hour has everything readers are looking for feisty female lead and a strong protective male who complement each other perfectly.

The story has a perfect flow from the growth of Ava and Grant to finding who they are and what they want. The murder mystery will have readers guessing until the end. Trust me readers will not want the story to end.

Trying to find a romantic suspense author who creates characters who are not just loveable but flawed so they come to life as if you could meet them on the street.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for advance copy of Vanishing Hour by Laura Griffin.

Synopsis:

Corporate lawyer Ava Burch has had enough of the big city and the daily grind. She grew up with her father, who raised search-and-rescue dogs, in rural Texas and has moved to the small town of Cuervo to spend time in the dry, rugged wilderness near Big Bend National Park. When she and her dog, Huck, discover an abandoned campsite on a volunteer search-and-rescue mission, she's perplexed, but she carefully photographs it all the same.

All Grant Wycoff can see when he looks at Ava is a city slicker--with her designer jeans and shiny car--who has no business on a serious team made of seasoned outdoorsmen and retired cops. But when she tells him of her findings on the trail, he sees there's more to her than meets the eye.

Ava's discovery reminds Grant of the unsolved case of a young woman who went missing two years ago. As they look into the campsite further, another woman disappears under odd circumstances. With time running out, Ava and Grant must work against the brutal heat from both the Texas sun and their own electric chemistry to solve the case.

About The Author:

Laura Griffin is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of more than thirty books and novellas. She is a two-time RITA Award winner, and her book Desperate Girls was named one of the Best Books of 2018 by Publishers Weekly. Book Review: Garrett's Destiny (Dark Protectors #15) by Rebecca Zanetti

Title: Garrett's Destiny (Dark Protectors #15)

Author: Rebecca Zanetti

Star: 3 1\2

Review:

Rebecca Zanetti can write steamy supernatural romance stories that will keep a tribe of readers.  Book 15 in the Dark protectors is one that her fans have been waiting for since started reading about the Vampire Demon Karys series.

That being said the author has relied on her same story telling and the characters are the only things that changes.  The story brings readers closer to understanding the key and Seven connection to the fixing the miss they made thousands of years earlier.

That being said Garrett is as expect and the cheesy named female lead Destiny Applegate is as you expected.  Sex, I am mad do as I say, female I will do what I want and yada yada.  More sex and end! The female names are cheesy and as always everyone is beyond amazing and attractive.

I hate to say the one part of this addition to the series is it bring readers closer to the reason the Keys and lock are so important to the supernatural world.

Thank you to Netgalley for advance copy of Rebecca Zanetti Garrets Destiny

Synopsis:

Love and danger . . .
For most of his life, Vampire-Demon Garrett Kayrs, nephew of the King of the Realm, has carried a heavy mantle of responsibility with ease and control. Fate declared him heir to the throne, Fortune marked him with the power of the mysterious circle of Seven, and Chance promised more surprises to come. Nothing deterred him from his path. Until the nightmares began--agonizing dreams of having a female, the female, his mate, on the back of his motorcycle—only to have her torn away from his protection. He feels the menace around her, the danger she’s in, and he can’t rest until he finds her . . .

Duty and desire . . .
Destiny Applegate bears the weight of her name with a respectful balance of fear and purpose. She has been given some direction, but not nearly enough to truly understand her duty, what she was born to do. Even as a child, she had a sense of him. The him, her mate. A dream moment or two with him that might have saved her—or possibly cursed her. So now, when he finds her, she has no choice but to jump on the back of his bike and do her best to hold on until she discovers her path—even if that means ending his.

About The Author:

Book Review: One Clear Shot: Claire’s Story by R.A. Ferrell

Title: One Clear Shot: Claire’s Story

Author: R.A. Ferrell

Star: 3

Review:

Not sure what to say about One Clear Shot.  The story needs editing a lot of editing to clean up the story to make it come to life.  The author tries to use Claire story to inspire people but instead it just falls flat and comes across as a teen writing about what it is like to be an adult in a romantic mystery.  The story lack coherence leaving readers wondering if the story is worth finishing.

Maybe if the author uses a better editor to clean up the story it might change the story from basic and boring to what she is hoping for a standout story.

Book Review: Bulletproof (Waterproof: Navy SEALs #9) by Jo Chambliss

Title: Bulletproof (Waterproof: Navy SEALs #9)

Author: Jo Chambliss

Star: 3 1\2

Review:

This is the first in this series I have read, and it just so happens to be the last in the series as well. The story is your typical steamy romantic suspense.  Lots of action and steamy romance when the characters are waiting for something to happen.

The story moves quickly to complete the end of the series.  The author brings in characters from her other books in the Waterproof Navy Seal series.  Recommended readers start with at least one of the books before starting book 9 if you are interested in the story line in book 9.

The book doesn't really stand out from the other romantic suspense series that will have these readers starting at book one.

Thank you to Netgalley for the copy of BulletProof by Jo Chambliss.

Synposis:

Spending a lifetime in the SEALs can teach a man a lot about himself. Getting shot several times trying to protect a pregnant woman can change a lot of the things you think you know… if you survive.

Commander Timothy “Stone” O’Reilly did survive and now knows that he wants more from this life than a successful career and his ten-year marriage to the intelligent and beautiful Dr. Cassidy O’Reilly. He wants the family he’d never desired before. Finding out that nearly losing him has made Cass feel the same way, the two decide it's time to make a baby.

With Tim recovered enough to return to his men, life is as good as it can be and about to get better with the thought of becoming a father. That is until a close friend and former SEAL teammate ends up dead under suspicious conditions.

No one knows why Bishop was targeted until the killer decides to play a game with the two remaining members of the long-time trio, Commander O’Reilly and CEO Dillan “Warden” Knot.

Invoking the name of a SEAL that died seventeen years ago, Bishop’s killer uses his vast reach to cast all of Tim's world into chaos before making his final move.

Tim soon finds out that he’s the target on a chess board full of power players determined to destroy him. And if the enemy can’t get to Stone O’Reilly, they’ll gladly start picking off everyone else in the commander’s life. Beginning with Cass.

No one is safe, not Dillan Knot and not the commander's hand-picked squad of seals, the Wendigos.

About The Author:

Jo Chambliss is primarily a reader of good books. Her work as an interior designer pays for her to keep well stocked in the creative adventures of her favorite authors. She lives in Birmingham, Alabama with her wonderfully crazy husband, equally crazy kids, and two cats.

Writing these stories started out as a coping mechanism; an escape from the reality of both of her parents in the hospital battling cancer. Sometime during the process, her dad passed. Her first novel, Remember Me, helped her survive all this chaos. It wasn’t going to be anything more, until her friends and family encouraged her to take it all the way.

Somewhere during the process of publishing that first book, this writing creature took over and decided that her first novel was just the beginning.
