Synopsis:  For Time and Eternity is about the puzzling events that would lead up to the largest series of earthquakes man has ever witnessed. Two people are the focus- both researchers, Mark Smith geologist for USGS (United States Geological Survey) and Dianne French who is Mark's long time friend and producer for the news at San Diego's NBC station. Together they and a select group investigate the puzzling events.

There is cliff-hanging action, mystery and romance in the story. Mark and Dianne go to investigate the LDS church, join it and become active and finally are sealed in the San Diego Temple. Dianne and her team at NBC receive the Edward R. Murrow award for journalism excellence and NBC's Natalie Morales makes the presentation. Later she and her husband attend the wedding reception. Almost immediately after the reception the series of earthquakes start just off the coast of northern CA and follow along the San Andreas Fault.

The sequel, For Time and Eternity/the Aftermath follows the earthquakes and the rebuilding of the cities, highways and power grid. Often Mark and his helicopter pilot Russ are engaged in rescue work under difficult conditions. Dianne and her team at NBC are collecting videos and eye-witness accounts of the destruction. Mark's daughter Sarah meets a guy who is member of the LDS church romance follows.
