Title: A Taste Of Magic
Author: Alaine Allister
Stars: 3 1\2 Stars out of 5
Review:
If you prefer a light mystery with a touch of romance this is the perfect book. It was very easy reading and could easily be finished in an afternoon. The main character is likeable and the supporting characters blend in with the story line. I can see this being a series with a developing love story.
I have rated this book 3.5 stars.
I obtained this book from Amazon in Kindle format.
Synopsis:
Out of work reporter Clarissa Spencer is being stalked by a stray cat. She can’t cook to save her life, her garden is an overgrown mess and her chocolate chip cookie addiction is out of control. Then to top it all off, she gets struck by lightning!
Clarissa thinks she has it bad - until she learns the town mayor has been shot to death and his widow has been falsely accused of killing him. Okay, so it could be worse...
Clarissa makes it her mission to expose the true killer before her arch nemesis - an infuriatingly handsome reporter from the city newspaper - can. Unfortunately, solving a murder is easier said than done...especially with the lunacy in Clarissa's life!

When I was a kid, I was obsessed with reading in general and mysteries in particular. I read every Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys book I could get my hands on. Now that I'm old an adult, that passion for reading has turned into a passion for writing.
For me, Sugarcomb Lake is the perfect escape. It's quaint, charming and all kinds of quirky. I mean, the town has to be pretty quirky considering how many people get murdered there, right?

When I'm not busy writing, I like to curl up with a good book, bake cupcakes, watch scary movies, indulge my online shopping addiction and go for walks. I would write more here, but I need to go attempt to pet a cat. For research.
