1:  Why did you sit down and decide to write a book?

The idea started when I couldn't find anything I wanted to read, so it was
suggested after I picked apart everything I read, that I should write my
own. When the inspiration hit me while sitting on Virginia Beach, I picked
up a note book and wrote it.

2:  Is this autobiographical at all?

No, not in any way. I wasn't a teen mom, I've never lived in Europe, and I
never lived in a tourist town.

3:  What is your favorite flavor of milk?

White

4:  Why?

Not sure why. Might have something to do with being a diabetic, everything
else tastes so sweet.

5:  If you could have one superpower what would it be?

Mindreading. I would love to know what people are really thinking.

6:  Do you have a connection with the East Coast where the story is set?

I live on the East Coast, and yes, I have family in Virginia. Also a
wonderful friend who lives in Virginia Beach.

7:  I love the beach, what is your favorite memory of the water or the
 beach?

My favorite memory of going to the beach would be hands down. Nantasket
Beach with my grandmothers. It was a thing we did several times a summer
when I was a child.

8:  Why the insecurity in your main character?  Is she like you or someone
close to you?

I think she's like most teens I knew or know. That age tends to make you
insecure. Coupled with the fact her whole family has been abandoned by
men, would make any girl insecure around them.

9:  What is your inspiration?

I had the idea of wanting to tackle teen pregnancy, but it wasn't until I
sat on the beach watching my younger cousins playing with their babies did
I decided to write it. The story just unfolded and flowed out onto the
paper.

10: Do you listen to music while you write?  If so what type?

It varies from story to story. For Mocked by Destiny, it was rap, hip hop,
and love songs. Mocked by Faith tends to be more emotional and soulful.

Do you have anything else you would like to tell your readers about your book?

This is not your typical teen pregnancy story, it's realistic and honest,
it's not about glorifying the situation.

And lastly, I want to thank those who read it. It means a lot to someone
who spends so much time pouring their heart out in to something, to know
people have taken the time to appreciate it. Like it or not, they gave it
a chance.

Thanks so much for taking the time to talk with me today and good luck with your writing in the future.  Lisa

  4. I've read this book more than once, and it's amazing. Having grown up in a small town, where we see too many teenage pregnancies, I've seen the struggles through the eyes of my friends. Her characters are so raw, and deep. I hope everyone reads this book.
