Product Review - Dr. Kay's Night Splint Brace for Plantar Fasciitis and Achilles

Review:  A friend of mine suffers from Plantar Fasciitis - her feet hurt all the time and she cannot walk for much time at all without extreme pain.  She keeps her feet up when she sits down and with 2 little ones it is tough for her to deal with all of the pain in her heels.  I gave her this item to give a try and hoping it would help her out.

A night splint is recommended by the Mayo Clinic for treatment of this condition - here is the link to the article.   Keeping the tendon stretched at night will cut down on pain and help improve the pain and the symptoms.  This brace is under $20 dollars making it a great deal.

She is giving it a try and will report how it is going in a few weeks - I know she said it will take some time to get use to using it at night, but she is excited about losing the pain.  I will let you know how it goes in a few weeks time.  So far so good.

Description:  Tired of starting your day with painful heels and arches? Plantar fascia and Achilles tendons that tighten up during the night are the cause, and the Dr. Kay's Night Splint Brace is the solution. By holding your foot in a flexed position, it keeps the tissues stretched and makes those first steps out of bed so much more comfortable.

Adjustable Straps Let You Set the Degree of Flex
Two side straps with Velcro closure control the angle of your foot (dorsiflexion). Start with a gentle angle, then gradually increase it over the following nights as your tendons get accustomed to being stretched. The straps that wrap around your leg and foot are also adjustable so you can fine-tune the fit, and their center-release buckles make getting the Dr. Kay's on and off a breeze.

Lightweight, Padded and Breathable for Pure Comfort
Designed to improve on heavy, bulky models that are hard to sleep in, the Dr. Kay's has a tough, yet thin and lightweight molded plastic shell on the outside and luxuriously thick foam padding on the inside. A breathable liner helps prevent heat and moisture build-up. Even the straps are padded to keep you perfectly comfortable.

Non-Skid Sole
Thanks to a rubberized bottom tread, you can rest assured of a secure footing if you need to get up during the night. (However, the Dr. Kay's is not recommended for daytime walking.) When you wake up in the morning, your relaxed tendons won't scream with pain, your tissues won't react with further damaging inflammation ... and you'll be well on your way to healing your painful foot condition.

Prevents morning pain and stiffness
Adjustable dorsiflexion maintains stretch while you sleep
