Title: A Proper Companion (Regency Rakes #1)-Clean, smut free, romance.
Review: Confirmed yet again that I am definitely a Regency Romance fan!!! This is a sweet story about a genteel woman who has been left with nothing and is forced to work as a Lady’s Companion. She works hard and is appreciated by her employers and her employers’ staff who wager she is well-bred from the wrong side of the sheets. Well the story starts with her employer’s grandson announcing his engagement to a young woman whom this grandmother is not thrilled with. Matchmaking and interference with the engagement ensue and with the combination of the era, the romance and the mistakes they all make makes this a fun, fast read that I enjoyed.
This romance is completely sex and smut free. Jane Austen type of story and I’ve read all of hers at least a few times. If you enjoy romance and especially historical romance you will love this story. The interaction between the characters is fun and I love the rules of the day and the way the people got around them when necessary. This is one for anyone to enjoy and trust me it is safe for all ages who enjoy reading romance.
I also read Desperate Measures (A Regency Short Story), by the same author. It was quite short, but I was able to follow the story line without problems and found it to be sweet and endearing. I read it because it was from the same author and free on Kindle at the time.
