Book Review Ernie Pyle In England

Ernie Pyle in England by [Ernie Pyle]
Title: Ernie Pyle In England

 Author: Ernie Plye

 Stars: 5 out of 5

Review:
Ernie Pyle was a well published newspaper correspondent prior to and during WWII. He went to England in late 1940 and left in early 1941. His purpose was to report on how the average English person was enduring the war  and near nightly bombing by the Germans. This book is composed of the articles he wrote during his trip and was first published in 1941. These articles give a clear understanding of the times and conditions under which they survived. I found the book to be easy reading and truly informative.
I have given this book a five star rating.
I obtained this book from Amazon in Kindle format.
Thank you Frank for your review!

About The Author:
Ernie Pyle
Ernest Taylor Pyle was an American journalist who wrote as a roving correspondent for the Scripps Howard newspaper chain from 1935 until his death in combat during World War II. He won the Pulitzer Prize in 1944.

His articles, about the out-of-the-way places he visited and the people who lived there, were written in a folksy style, much like a personal letter to a friend. He enjoyed a following in some 300 newspapers.

On April 18, 1945, Pyle died on Iƍjima (Iwo Jima), an island off Okinawa, after being hit by Japanese machine-gun fire.

Movie Review Dr. Strange

Movie: Dr. Strange

Release Date: November 4, 2016 (USA)

Stars: 4 out of 5

Review:

Doctor Strange was a great movie. It had amazing special effects, a solid plot-line, and tied into the upcoming "Infinity War" plot-line in a way that made sense. My only problem was the fact that the movie didn't really align well with the comic book series. Of course, most movies based off of books or comics tend to stray from the original sources plot-line. Another thing that could have been worked on was the pacing. The movie takes place in a span of about two or three years, which is hard to cram into a two-hour movie, but I still kind of wish that there had been less montage-like sections of the film.

Overall, Doctor Strange was a well produced movie, and I could tell that a lot of effort had been put into it. I recommend you see it, you won't be disappointed.

Thank you Emily for your Review.

Month of Service Little Ways we can increase Love in our families and those Around Us

Image result for Kindness Calendar
Starting December 1st our family is following a list of service we can do for others in our family and outside of our family.
Each day has something easy for everyone from ages 3-99 to be able to do.   Everything from opening a door to telling someone they look nice that day.  Each act of service or kindness helps increase love in our little family.

Every Calendar will be different because every family is different with different ages and abilities.
Last night my husband helped a family move into the area while the kids and I decorated out Christmas tree.  Today at school the kids are making a card for a school staff member thanking them.  I plan to leave a note for a neighbor thanking them for being wonderful neighbors.

Another act of kindness is Introduce yourself to someone new.  This one is wonderful for children because it helps them break out of their shells and group of friends to find new friends who are different from themselves. Another act is say Hello to everyone you meet with a smile.   In this day and age a smile can go along way to help someone who is struggling in life and help them find a small amount of joy.

Give someone an unexpected gift, Make a list of things you are thankful for and posted, Tell your parents Thank you. (Trust me It will never get old.  I am a mom of 4 and I still tell my parents Thank You. Mainly for keeping me alive and loving me at the most unlovable times.)

Help Unload the Groceries from the Car is on December 24th. This one for our family will be a little different it will be help bake cookies and give them to the neighbors.

Small acts of kindness not only help those around you feel love but you will feel an extra hop in your step on the days you want to drag your feet.  We all have those days so push though and think of how your smile might help others.

Please find a Kindness Calendar that works for you or your family. Find the Christmas joy everyone is longing to feel right now.  If you find this changes not only your heart but those around you create a Calendar of Kindness for the year and see what a change it can make in your life and those around you.

Book Review Stalked (ALIAS, #1)

Stalked by Lisa Hughey
Title:  Stalked (ALIAS #1)

Author: Lisa Hughey

 Stars: 4 out of 5

Review:
Lisa Hughey has always written good Romantic Suspense and this one is equal to all her others. Smart Ass broken Kita goes head to head with rules following Alex to protect one sleazy Judge.
Stalked is a new series by author Lisa Hughey and has potential to be a fun series to follow.
The one things I personally as a reader dislike is sexual attraction or Instra love that involves non stop thoughts of sex because the characters going from depth to superficial making the story almost unbelievable. With the current romantic suspense there is sex scenes which or explicit but personal I skipped it because it didn't add anything to the story. Always it was mind blown changing experience.
The twist where Alex fines more emotional connection and Kita finds a release from stress comes from their backgrounds being so different.
I plan to read more in this series.

Received Advance Copy from Netgalley. Thoughts expressed are my own.

Synopsis:
Stalked: Opposites attract, unfortunately.

Rule follower, Federal US Deputy Marshal Alex Saunders has been assigned to protect a federal judge after the judge receives death threats. This detail is standard until the judge insists on his son’s PR firm provide backup security, which isn’t even in the rule book. But because Alex is already in hot water, he follows orders to keep the judge happy.

Rule breaker, and former CIA analyst, Kita Kim reluctantly agrees to go undercover, posing as the judge’s aide slash girlfriend, but in return she expects her boss at ALIAS to help her protect an abused woman and her nieces even though technically keeping the children from their father is against the law.

From the very start, Alex and Kita disagree about everything. But their sizzling attraction continues to grow as the threats against the judge escalate and put them all in danger. Can these two opposites find enough common ground outside the bedroom, or will their diverse philosophies result in disaster?

Book Review - Inferno - Dan Brown

17212231
Title:  Inferno

Author:  Dan Brown

Review:  Well I had been on the list at the library for months and I finally got the book on a Friday and read it over the weekend.  This is a fast paced book with lots of action that you come to know from this author, but I didn’t really get or care for the subject of all that speed.  Yes…Dante’s Inferno is interesting and everything, but the idea that the super genius is using it to send clues to others on how to sop his deadly plans for the world?  Are we James Bond now?  Really I think the subject could have been better.

I like Landon and the new characters he meets along the way as he tries to stop the end of the world…plaque…who knows…But I really think that the idea of this plague is just plain strange and really?   Sorry but I didn’t get it and yet it was interesting like the rest of this authors books and maybe it has been to long since I have read one that I forgot what silly premises these books are set on.

If you enjoy this author then read the book, just know that the ending will leave you wondering What the Heck happened?  That is about all I can say about this thriller…too bad because it had such a good start.

I will try to find some reviewers that completely disagree with me in the other reviews section.
