Title: Why you should
laugh three times a day
Author: Kimberling Galeti Kennedy
Review: This is a short
little book of poems for children. The first poem is titled “Why you should
laugh three times a day.” There are
poems about a best friend, flowers, a bakery, a dog, thunder, etc. I enjoyed
the first poem, but I didn’t really like the rest of them as much as the first.
I didn’t find the content all that amusing or entertaining and most of them
lacked a rhythm that I would expect while reading a children’s book. To be
honest, I was reading it aloud to three children and only one stuck around
through the entire book. Maybe it would have gone better if I had read them one
poem at a time. I don’t know. This one just didn’t do it for me.
Thanks Heather for this review.
