Starting December 1st our family is following a list of service we can do for others in our family and outside of our family.
Each day has something easy for everyone from ages 3-99 to be able to do. Everything from opening a door to telling someone they look nice that day. Each act of service or kindness helps increase love in our little family.
Every Calendar will be different because every family is different with different ages and abilities.
Last night my husband helped a family move into the area while the kids and I decorated out Christmas tree. Today at school the kids are making a card for a school staff member thanking them. I plan to leave a note for a neighbor thanking them for being wonderful neighbors.
Another act of kindness is Introduce yourself to someone new. This one is wonderful for children because it helps them break out of their shells and group of friends to find new friends who are different from themselves. Another act is say Hello to everyone you meet with a smile. In this day and age a smile can go along way to help someone who is struggling in life and help them find a small amount of joy.
Give someone an unexpected gift, Make a list of things you are thankful for and posted, Tell your parents Thank you. (Trust me It will never get old. I am a mom of 4 and I still tell my parents Thank You. Mainly for keeping me alive and loving me at the most unlovable times.)
Help Unload the Groceries from the Car is on December 24th. This one for our family will be a little different it will be help bake cookies and give them to the neighbors.
Small acts of kindness not only help those around you feel love but you will feel an extra hop in your step on the days you want to drag your feet. We all have those days so push though and think of how your smile might help others.
