Book Review: Samantha Watkins

Samantha Watkins by Aurélie Venem
Title:Samantha Watkins

Author: Aurelie Venen

Translator: Stacey E. Battis

Stars: 5 out of 5

Review:
I am not one to read about Vampires because I think the whole Fantasy is really silly because everyone is so amazingly beautiful. However I thought I would take a chance on Aurelie Venem because it sounded interesting.
                                                         I love this book!!
This vampire book Samantha Watkins had me laughing from beginning to end not to mention the fact I found myself emotional invested in Samantha and everything about her.
Aurelie Venem created characters that will draw readers in until they are unable to think of anything else but Samantha and her amazing abilities to have you laughing.

The book has a wonderful blend of colorful characters who will capture the readers heart strings. The action is painted in such a way the reader will feel as if they are watching a movie. The dialogue moves quickly and the reader is never left scratching there head unless Samantha is.

I have only read one Vampire series and it was Anne Rice who created a world of fantasy and romance. Aurelie Venem Creates that same world but use humor to have the readers fall in love.
With this book being translated from French to English I found something things funny and had to reread some part but I was simple amazed how easy everything flowed page after page until I was dying for more.
The way the characters spoke mainly Samantha was a little too proper for me but knowing this book was translated from French to English it made a lot of since. I have read other book translated from Spanish to English and found it difficult but this translator did an amazing job bring this story to life in English.
I can't wait to read book 2 and 3 when they arrive and I will recommended this book to everyone I know.

For a Vampire book there was hardly any sexual reference and zero sex scenes.

  6. I messaged the Author myself and was told that Amazon is in no hurry to translate this amazing series into English. I have tried to find someway to email Amazon to complain about this total stupidity but I can't seem to figure this out. If someone does let me know and we can all email them our outrage.

  7. I am sooo frustrated. I thought this book was going to be another silly girl meets gorgeous vampire, girl is saved by said vampire, girl and vampire fall in love...blah blah. This book started off that way for me but then I got really into this book!! I lived it. And the end leave us at such a cliff hanger! Then they don't have plans to translate the second book!! No!! I almost wish I didn't read the first one knowing it would just drop off like that. If there is a way to complain to amazon let me know and I'll do it.

  8. I am there with you! Believe I wish I could complain as well. I do not read many vampire books or really YA books but this time I thought why not. Than I feel in love with the book and couldn't wait for the next in the series. I would not have promote this book so much if I had thought they wouldn't be translating the series.
I really enjoyed this book. I have also tried to find a way to find out when the next in the series will be translated but no one has emailed me back.

  9. I just finished the first novel and I am so disappointed to see that there is not an interest in translating the others. A true "cliffhanger".
I wonder if contacting the publisher would be more productive?

  10. I literally read this book in one day and stayed up until 4 am on a work night because I just couldn't stop reading! I honestly didn't even know it was translated until I finished reading it flowed so well, and then so utterly disappointed when I found the second book wasn't even translated yet! I hope they translate it soon because I'm dying to read the rest of this series.
