David and I went to see this movie and I have to say that it is like saying good-bye to someone I've known for awhile. Bittersweet is the word I think that fits best. My oldest commented that he was glad that after finishing book seven he still had the movies to wait for, but after seeing the movie at midnight he wished there were still more to come. "I can't believe its really over." is all he could say and that it was a fantastic movie to end on.
David brought home Books 1-3 from a business trip some years back. He read them to the kids before bed each night and we all fell in love with the story. Book 4 came out and we pre-ordered it and raced to the mailbox the day it was delivered. Our oldest finished it in 3 days and he was only 8 at the time. True magic could be found in its pages.
When book 5,6 and 7 came out we were at the bookstore waiting and for book 7 we even dressed up for the costume contests and fun. Everyone in our household is a fan of Harry Potter and watching the movie makes me want to read them all again. How many books have done that? For my family not that many.
These books have been an amazing magical journey that has made my family better readers. Thank you J.K Rowling for this priceless gift.

I have started to read book 1 of Harry Potter to Martin and I am pretty sure he doesn't care but I have really enjoyed rereading the books again. I cried when the movie ended because it was truly like saying good bye to an old friend.
ReplyDeleteJt doesn't want to read them yet, even me reading them to him. He says the books are stupid, I told him that he doesn't know how good they are we will start them in the fall.
