Review:

To start off readers I am warning you now you need to seriously suspend reality when it comes to this book and the human body.  I was laughing at one point thinking ok this is insane and no even based in anyway reality.  Lets face it there is only so much a human body can do before you are just dead and these two take it to the extreme. 

The story is what you expect from Harlequin and in a way disappointing because the author doesn't delivery on what readers might be expecting.  Unless bodies that are completely broken having romance is what you expect then ignore this post and enjoy the book.

I enjoy a quick fast pace romantic suspense but Nichole Severn takes it to a ridicule level of crazy that is hard to enjoy.

Book Review: Hard Line (Cobra Elite #5) by Pamela Clare

Review:

I haven't been a big fan of the Cobra Elite series.  They are hit and miss when it comes to storytelling, unique characters not to mention the unbelievable moments in the series.

The males are so over the top short of beating their chest with how amazing they are in bed and the women who fall for I am Tarzan You Jane sex.

The plot and mastermind of the evil plot is boring one dimensional and lacks any type of convincation. The "Bad guys" is the only character I wish they had more of.  The author tries to use a red herring but it falls flat so many times.

If you like the Cobra series you will love this book but if this is your first book by Pamela Clare I suggest finding a different one from her other romantic suspense series.

I found the first part of this book, which detailed the author's early life, to be very informative. I only wish it could have been more detailed and contained more about her daily life in Istanbul and Israel. I have no doubt that she believes what has been written. However, every story has three sides; hers, his, and the truth. I feel that he had no reason to admit to any wrong doing or misdeeds. That his word was stronger than a written agreement I have no doubt. A written agreement can be produced in a court of law and will stand on its own. A verbal agreement is generally considered to be hear say and open to interpretation by all concerned parties. I would have liked to have seen both sides (hers and his) of the written letters which was not produced and unlikely to be produced. In summary I feel this was an attempt at revisionist history writing by the author without providing supporting details.

I would rate this book a maximum of three stars based on the portion concerning the author's early life.

Book Review: Take It Back by Kia Abdullah

Review:

Sometimes it is hard to write a book review and this is one of those times. It is not because the story line and subsequent narrative are not well done. No, both are excellent and well written. The problem arises in trying to describe how I felt without giving away the plot and ending. The main character is a strong individual, who has succeeded in her chosen profession, and has given it up to work in an victim assistance organization. When the physically handicapped victim comes forward, with a shocking allegation, it rocks the close knit minority community and our main character's family. The conclusion will leave you, the reader, rethinking your moral values but encouraging the main character to stand her moral ground and do what's right.

I have rated this book 4.5 d stars. I would purchase this book for myself and friends. I look forward to seeing more offerings by this talented author.

Lots of reading but no computer to write revews

 As many of you know my kids are online school for the next semester which means I do not get the use of even my table while school is in session.  After spending 8 hours bouncing between 4 kids from freshman to 2nd graded I am so worn out I just need a nap before dinner.

That being said I have been reading so much between insomnia, late night working with a kid who is playing catch up (12:30am. Tag teaming with his dad.) I have been able to get a lot of reading done in 10 mins here and 5 mins there and well from 1am until 6 am in the morning.

I have to admit so many amazing books have been flowing into my kindle and I hope I can write reviews to so them justice.

Also I need to figure out the one week of fall break activities to keep the demons...I mean my beloved children off electronics.  

Fun note my son is unable to understand how someone with such crazy amount of different learning disabilities visual dyslexia because of how the letters move, disappear or reappear.

What make Melinda Leigh a amazing mystery writer.  The stories she creates are always moving forward the characters fears from the first book to the next showing the growth the characters create!
Each characters has a heart a soul that comes to life off the pages.  Readers will root for Bree and the family she is now taking care of as well as those she surrounds herself with.
The dark past is what keeps her moving she tries hard to find peace with her family, create a life as a care taker and help her brother who is lost in his mind at times.

This series isn't a stand alone but the author is able to bring readers up to speed without slowing down the story.

Readers and fan of spy thriller are going to love this new book by Lucy Kirk. This author is one to keep an eye out for to enjoy other books she has written.

The authors background gives the story a real feel and believable for a spy type thriller. The story uses characters development and the history of the spy gerne to keep readers on a nail biting pace.  The characters are humanly flawed making them almost real as well as the story that revolves around the spying history between the warning nations the are in this wonderful book.

As a big fan of British Police Mysteries I was not disappointed in this offering by the author. It builds from the onset untill the finish. You are able to visualize yourself in a small English village and watch, as an informed bystander, the drama unfold before you. You are shown the class snobbery and petty malicious gossip that swirls just beneath the seemingly calm waters. The big question is will the heroine (DI Vera Standhope), with the assistance of her team, be able to see justice done for the victim who was murdered so brutally on a cold and snowy night.

This character is also, aptly portrayed, in the excellent British television mystery series Vera.

I have rated this book 4.5 stars

While she was cooking in the Bird Observatory on Fair Isle, she met her husband Tim, a visiting ornithologist. She was attracted less by the ornithology than the bottle of malt whisky she saw in his rucksack when she showed him his room. I am not really into Supernatural series but this cover screamed read me!! Yes I do judge a book by their covers at first glance.
Sorry. But hey I am honest back to the review!
Helen Harper creates feisty, likable characters have a need to fight for what is right no matter what and a desire to be normal. Emma Bellamy was normal until something happened changing her forever!  
I will be honest this would be a 5 star review but the ends had me scratching my head because it didn't match with the actions though out the series even when Emma spells it out for readers it still doesn't make since.
I love the author decision that using a persons name as the power to control another person.  It was a interesting twist!

The synopsis of The Cure had me excited to see what this new author might be able to come up with.

The story doesn't deliver what it promises to.  The plot goes from interesting to confuted within the first few chapters. The author uses more medical and pathogen verbiages that will have the more die hard Medical thriller fan scratching their head wondering if they need a PhD to read this book.  Glenn Cooper falls into using stereotypes as a way to describe characters, scenes as well as the plot that went from wahoo to what the crap am I reading?

The story ends in a cringe worthy story that can be thrown in the trash can when done.

Glenn was born in New York City and grew up in nearby White Plains. He attended White Plains High School before enrolling at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts where he graduated from Harvard with an honors degree in archaeology. He then attended Tufts University School of Medicine and did his post-doctoral training at the New England Deaconess and the Massachusetts General Hospitals becoming a board-certified specialist in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. After practicing medicine, Glenn began a research career in the pharmaceutical industry which culminated in an eighteen-year position as the Chairman and CEO of a biotechnology company in Massachusetts. Glenn began writing screenplays over twenty years ago and his interest in movies prompted him to attend the graduate program in film production at Boston University. He is currently the chairman of a media company, Lascaux Media, which has produced three independent feature-length films. In 2006 Glenn turned his hand to novel-writing. His debut novel, THE LIBRARY OF THE DEAD, the first in a trilogy, became an international bestseller and was translated into thirty languages. All of his seven published books have become top-ten international best-sellers.

Glenn currently lives in New Hampshire.
