Book Review: Lock 'N' Load (Federal K-9 #1) by Tee O'Fallon
Title: Lock 'N' Load (Federal K-9 #1)
Author: Tee O'Fallon
Stars: 4 Stars
Review:
Lock N Loaded is the start of a Federal K-9 series. Readers are introduced to a handful of Alpha male characters and their K-9 animals. Each one with a purpose.
CIA analyst Trista Gold and CIA K-9 officer Sgt. Matt Connors are the first in this series. The story is very much a ugly ducking vs prince charming with Gun fire, dead bodies, fires and lots of lovable animals.
The story is fast pace, characters are well developed, everyone has a purpose and point in this story. Even as the story builds readers will find themselves surprised with the sweet moments that happen though out the book.
The story wraps up in a nice little bow with a lot of heart and soul and readers hoping for more from Tee O'Fallon.
This is a great beginning to this Federal K-9 series. Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher Entangled Publishing, LLC (Amara) for the advance copy of Tee O'Fallon Lock N' Loaded

Title: A Risk Worth Taking (The Legionnaires #3)
Author: Brynn Kelly
Star: 4 1/2
Review:
Brynn Kelly is able to make characters who are in a fictional over the top world and make them feel real. They deal with real life issues that weighed down a persons mind and soul.

My family has a long list of member who have severed in the military starting in the revolutionary war to Vietnam War. Each war took a tole on those who fought for the rights we have as well as the families who stayed home praying they didn't receive a knock on their door.

Title: Beyond Control (Texas Trilogy #3)
Author: Kat Martin
Stars: 5 stars
Review:
Where do I start?
I couldn't put this book down! Kat Martin introduces characters to strong women in her series who have lost their way while protecting the ones they love. The characters are strong, human, and loving. Readers will not be able to put this book down.
Now that I have read this entire series I can't wait to go back and start once again. That's right I want to go back and reread the series not because I was lost but because I want to living in Kat Martin's world she had created just a little longer.
Kat Martin has the ability to bring readers into a life or death story that is filled with dangers, romance, and characters who will come alive.
The author brings characters from the other two stories into Beyond Control connecting the stories in so many ways.
The character develop has the perfect blend when the romance begins it doesn't take away from the story but only adds.
Kat martin Beyond Control is the perfect read for those who need suspense, action, story and romance to end a long summer day. Readers are going to fall in love with Kat Martins Characters Tory and Josh before they even know what hit them.

Book Review: The Surviving Girls (Hidden Sins #3) by Katee Robert
Title: The Surviving Girls (Hidden Sins #3)
Author: Katee Robert
Stars: 5 Stars
Review:
This is a must read summer read!!
Katee Robert has the ability to bring readers to their knees with the action back thriller The Surviving Girls. I couldn't put this book down the story is perfectly placed so that readers will not be able to put the book down. The twist and turns are easy enough to figure out but the adventure is and story telling will keep reads from putting down the story.
The author Katee Roberts is able to have readers sympathize with the women as the try hard to more on from the past creating a future they thought wasn't possible.
Lei is strong character who readers will be able to latch on to as she tries to figure out what happened to her and Emma's life.
The author gives every characters purpose in the story and no one is wasted. The story lines move quickly as they beginning to figure out who the killer or killers are.
I love this story. I found myself reading it in the car while waiting in the school pick up line, making dinner and waiting for dance to end. I couldn't put this book down.
If you haven't head the other Hidden Sin series do not worry they are all stand alone novels. Each one better than the last.

Title: The Other Pilot (Boyd Chailland #1)
Author: Ed Baldwin
Stars: 4 stars
Review:
An action adventure which features an Air Force Pilots as the main character. Conspiracy abounds in this story and a conspiracy theorist with revel in this story and compare it to what is happening at this time. I was astounded by some aspects of the tale and as an USAF and civil service veteran taken back by some of what I considered gross misleading facts. But that aside, I would recommend this book to any reader who enjoys an action adventure with out gallons of blood and guts being spilt but with a set of brains being utilized instead.
I have rated this book 4 stars.

Book Review: A Necessary Deception (Search and Recover #2) by Lucy Farago
Title: A Necessary Deception (Search and Recover #2)
Author: Lucy Farago
Stars: 4
Review:
Necessary Deception is a fun romantic suspense that readers can start and finish quickly or enjoy over the summer break. (I know what break if you work or have kids)
The characters are well developed, the authors ability to write banter without taking away the story is a feat. Their is sex but it fills in the time where the characters are waiting to something to happen.
While this is book 2 in a series it is completely a stand alone novel. I didn't read book 1 and the author blends the update and the new story together keeping readers engaged until the very end or what readers think is the end. Trust me you turn the page and find the story is still moving forward with the ending you hoping to find. There is no cliff hanger. The story will leave readers happy and with a smile on their face.
Thank you to the Netgalley and the publisher Lyrical Press for the advance copy of Lucy Farago A Necessary Deception.
Synopsis:
The agents of the renowned Investigative Collection Unit have to be the biggest, baddest, and brightest to take on missions no one else would dare. It doesn’t hurt that they’re also the sexiest. But in a shadowy world where reality means living on the razor’s edge of deception, few survive with their hearts intact . . .
ICU intel expert Monty Buchannan’s idea of fun is creating software—not roughing it in a cabin off the grid in Alaska. But his team forced him to unplug when his intense need to be in control put a mission at risk. Being alone isn’t a problem; most people make him uncomfortable. But there’s something about the woman he finds floundering in a frozen stream that warms his ice-cold heart . . .
Taylor Moore was once a spoiled socialite famous for her tabloid-worthy exploits, until she broke out from under wealthy father’s thumb. Now she’s the self-made CEO of an online matchmaking service—and on the run from Russian mobsters who’ve hijacked her website. But when she’s suddenly plucked from a river by a half-naked mountain man, trust will become a matter of survival. And desire just might break down the defenses that have kept them both playing it far too safe for far too long .
About The Author:
Lucy Farago knows there is nothing like a happy sigh at the end of a good book. With the encouragement of her loving husband, she wrote her first manuscript. An unpublished historical, it sits in a file on her computer, there to remind her how much fun she had learning the craft and becoming part of an industry whose books make you believe anything is possible. A big fan of Agatha Christie, she set out to write her first romantic suspense novel. Thrilled to be a published author, Lucy also teaches yoga, enjoys cooking, and saying what other people are thinking. In her fantasy world, her beautiful Siberian husky, Loki, doesn’t shed and her three kids clean up after themselves . Alas, that fantasy will never see fruition.

I really wanted to like Arresting Mason but the story is what it is. Everything was really over the top to the point the story get lost and readers find themselves skipping pages. Writing is the fruit to happiness.
Amber Daulton lives her life by that one belief even though she normally isn't so Zen.
She lives in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina with her wonderful husband and their four crazy kitties. Writing takes up most of her time, aside from her day job in the retail industry. As a fan of contemporary, paranormal and historical novels alike, she can't get enough of feisty heroines and alpha heroes. Her mind is a wonderland of romance and adventure, laughter and awesome ways of kicking a guy when he's down. She probably wouldn't be too sane without her computer and notebooks. After all, what's a girl to do when there are people jabbering away in her head and it's hard to shut them up? Write! Nothing else works.

Book Review: A Dangerous Madness (Regency London #3) by Michelle Diener
Title: A Dangerous Madness (Regency London #3)
Author: Michelle Diener
Star: 5 Stars
Review:
A brilliantly conceived historical romance that takes a sliver of fact and builds an intriguing romantic encounter around same. While the basic facts can not be ignored they provide the impetus for the initial meeting and growing love story between the two principals. A well told tale that, if you enjoy history as I do, will provide a very pleasant reading interlude.
I have rated this book 5 stars.
I obtained this book from Amazon in Kindle format. Frank You Frank for your review.

Book Review: Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell
Title: Then She Was Gone by
Author Lisa Jewell
Stars: 4 1/2 stars
Review:
I loved it and hated it at the same time - this author is talented and will make you think long after you finish this book.
Wow! this book grabbed me just a few chapters in and then turned dark really fast. At one point I was not sure how deep or bizarre the book could get. How can someones thinking be so convoluted and evil? How could another person allow a person to do what she did? Well, it started to get less psychological thriller(this would never happen in real life) and more believable as I continued to read. The characters were struggling and I had great empathy for the mother especially since I am a mother. Her life had been tossed and turned and she was adrift with nothing to anchor her to this world. Her husband could not support her because she was lost and he could not figure out how to reach her. Her other children could only watch as she drifted further and further from where they were and from who she had been. What would you do if one of your children just disappeared without reason? This book will make you think and some of those thoughts are terrifiying. Closure is so important and this book really showed that aspect of human nature. You cannot always move on without it. Also, if you have information even if it seems small you need to tell someone - you will understand once you read this book.
I read this book in less than 3 days because I had to know what happened to Ellie. I would have read it faster had I not had to work, be a mother, and do all the other things that are necessary for this life to support a family...bummer somedays when you find a really good book.
I give this book 4 1/2 stars and would recommend it to anyone who likes a good mystery that can be graphic at times. This book was bizarre and yet not too bizarre like I started to think it was getting. Unstable people seem to attract unstable people making some situations pretty scary, to say the least. I had not read this author before but I will look at her other books and see if they are as good as this book.
Make sure you have time to read this book when you get about 1/2 way because you will begrudge putting it down for any reason. This would make a really scary movie because it could happen - happen to anyone. This is not something out of the realm of possibilities and that is what scares me the most about this book. It is good, but it is tense and will keep you wondering how could this happen and what if it happened to me?
Thank you Lisa Peters for your Review.

Book Review: Stranded with the Detective (Tennessee SWAT #4) by Lena Diaz
Title: Stranded with the Detective (Tennessee SWAT #4)
Author: Lena Diaz
Stars: 3 1/2
Review:
While the story is pretty straight forward I wasn't able to really connect with the characters. The story would drag on and just when it would pick up again it would stop for them to have sex. While I know that is how Harlequin Intrigue have been I have found others that have strong stories with the romance there but not stopping and starting. Piper is a stronger character I just wish there had been less sex and more character development as well as deeper story that readers could really hang on to.

Book Review: Melt for You (Slow Burn #2) by J.T. Geissinger
Title: Melt for You (Slow Burn #2)
Author: J.T. Geissinger
Stars: 5 stars
Review:
I will be honest I am not much romance unless thing go boom, people are running for there lives. Romance has been something I avoid because it really cheesy.
J.T. Geissinger is your typical ugly duckling story but what makes this stand out is the banter from the two characters that will have readers smiling, laughing and sighing.
The author is able to create amazing banter between Cameron and Joellen that makes the story fun and believable.
This reader is one of the those socially awkward individuals that seem to trip over her tongue all all the time. The kissing scene had me laughing
Cameron "Was that it?"
Joellen "Yes!" I shouted. Why? Was it that bad?"
Cameron "No, it was perfectly fine, lass. If I were your grandma." This lips curl up and I realize he is laughing at me.
Joellen. "Oh My God your impossible."
The kissing lesson continues from there with more romance and sweet moments.
The Running scenes are even better.
Joellen "Rest on your butt Crack?"
Cameron "With a straight Face he says Aye, Lass you caught me. its a bottle of butt crack juice. Drink up, its full of o'vitamins."
The banter keeps on going and readers will eat up every single word that J.T. Geissinger has written.
This story is one of the best romance book I have read in a long time and I can't wait to read more by this author. While they characters have sex it isn't nearly as graphic as the author Romantic Suspense serves which are a bit more erotic.
This story is a lot like my husband and I when we first met. I couldn't stand him and I never once pretend to be someone else for the first time. We teased each other until one day he asked me out on a date. After we were engaged he said "I always wanted to marry someone who had no idea how truly beautiful they were inside and out. You are beautiful and just need to believe in yourself and less about what others said to you in the past."

Review:
I didn't know this was part of a series not to mention the last book in the series. To say I was lost is an understatement. The author catches readers up fast however that will still have new readers scratching their heads.
Putting the aside the story left me wonder and scratching my head many times. Amy just lost her husband and she is attracted to the seal team leader Jace "Mac" Mackenzie. The Characters are developed enough. The over the top story will have readers needing to suspend their belief as they read this book.
The story moves quickly giving readers of the series books a satisfying ending but leaving this reader wondering the purpose of this series.
I can identify with Amy as a mother and having a child put in danger and doing anything to keep them save and healthy.

Synopsis:
In the final novel in the scorching Red-Hot SEALs series, a desperate mother and a Navy SEAL fight fire with fire to protect their love and save the world…
Amy Chastain has made a lot of enemies—none so ruthless as the insanely powerful New Ruling Order (NRO). When they killed her husband, it was hell. Then they targeted her children by injecting them with a dangerous, experimental isotope. Now Amy trusts only one man to help her: the ex-commander of SEAL Team 7.
In the company of Navy SEALs, Jace “Mac” Mackenzie was in his physical element. Now he’s on the run from the same cabal that poisoned Amy’s children. That doesn’t stop him from launching a mission to bring down the NRO—and find an antidote. But the clock is ticking. And as the sparks fly between him and Amy, Mac realizes he has more to lose than ever before.
As Mac closes in on the NRO, he uncovers a plot that threatens more than Amy’s children. Now it’s a race against time to stop a global conspiracy, save the woman he loves, and protect the family that’s starting to feel like his.
