As a kid the only time I would get to talk with my mom was in the
bathroom. Than again their were 7 of us so fighting for moms time we
took it when could get it. So sometimes it was sitting on the bathroom
counter talking to her about whatever was going on.
Now that I am a
mom the bathroom is my quite time away from the tiny humans who go
hunting for me the second I step out of their line of site.
I
tried the whole come on in while I take care of business but soon my
private bathroom time became lets ask mom 20 questions about what she
does in the bathroom to my toddler pointing at my body and asking
questions.
Yes some of you might say this is good teaching the
kids about how their bodies are different but for me I just needed a few
seconds of not being asked questions. I shut the door trusting in the
few mins it take to use the bathroom no one would kill, hurt or mane
their siblings. Lesson learned ALOT can happens in a few seconds.
My
toddler decided he hated the locked door so he would lay his head down
and cry as his little fingers appeared under wanting to get in. It was
hard but soon he realized I wasn't coming out until I was done. So he
would stand at the door like a little sentry and the second I was out he
announced to everyone and yes they would all come running like I was
coming for for the first time in weeks.
I learned hiding from my
kids for a few minutes a day was heavenly and the best hiding places
their bedrooms. They never came looking for me in their bedrooms Go
figure.
In the famous words of my 5 year old (Counting down the days until she is in ALL day Kindergarten)
You
never listen to me... WHY don't you listen to me? What do you have to
use the bathroom? Why do you always pee? Why do you have to poop. I need
you to stop that and listen to me!
Why indeed?

Book Review: Hot Protector

Review:
There are two story lines I am so tried of reading one when the woman gets pregnant after one hot long night and the second stepbrother romances.
Lynn Raye Harris did a great job of writing and kept the story moving from beginning to end never once causing the reader to get bored. The Romance is hot just like all the others but something was off about this book and I can't quite put my finger on it.
The story moves quickly with an another explosive end and a romance that will last a life time.
If you do not like Swearing, graphic sex, and endless action this isn't your book.

Although this book is not a genre that I would normally choose to read I must confess that I thoroughly enjoyed the story. I was drawn in by the brief synopsis that was given with the eBook listing on Amazon. I began reading with a jaundice outlook and was slowly drawn into the story and the plight of the heroine. It has all of the basic ingredients of a light comedic ghost story with a grand finale of a finish. I would recommend this book to anyone seeking a light cozy murder mystery ghost story. I gave this book a 4 star rating. I obtained this book in Kindle format from Amazon.

what can I say about this book….well if you like sex then this is the book for
you…lots and lots of it in many, many places.
As I was reading it took a bit of work to find the plot…it was mixed in
with so much sex that I was not sure I actually understood what the book was
about until after the half-way point and then the plot came clear to me.
This is not what I
would call a romance. With a romance there
is a bit of romancing going on before the actual sex…in this book it is slam
bam thank you ma’am or slam bam thank you man…it is an equal opportunity book,
everyone gets off and everyone gets thanked in the process. This is more an the erotica side of romance
and so beware. For some of you beware is
a call to read (so go for it!), for others it is a book to pass on.
The plot was thin in
my opinion, but I don’t think the plot is why people read this type of book
anyway. So that said I guess it is up to
you whether to read this book or not, do you like books heavy in sex and light
on content? Then this is the book for
you…if not then skip it. I do love the
fantasy aspect of these two authors…always rich and always super hot…if I had a
fantasy character I guess that would be it too.
Why not dream big…it all areas…if you know what I mean....wink wink!!!

I love political\spy thrillers. From first to last page will have the readers wondering more about the geopoliticals around the world. What the readers knows, what they think they know and honestly how we do not know anything. The suspense and unexpected twist will keep the reader hooked. The authors created an amazing story that almost seem plausible.
The characters are well created and you knew what they would do without question. Each one bring the story to its amazing ending that has readers wanting more.
This story is a perfect blend of the questions, answers, suspense and roller coaster ride readers will not want to leave.

Book Review Play To Win by Tiffany Snow

Review:
The first book in the series had me so excited that I found something fun with just the right amount of romance to the suspense. However by book 3 I really didn't care what happened to Sage she must have broken a mirror and didn't know because she was endless danger. The Sage I met at the beginning of the series isn't the same Sage at the end. I get she went though a lot but I was hoping the author would keep some of the fun she created in the first book.
The Men of the series did change from the first and second book but Ryker changed the most and he ended up being the man I had hoped for from the beginning. It feels like the author decided to throw Sage under the bus with the typical danger and focus on Ryker and how he develops at the end of the series VS Parker and Sage who stay basically the same.
The twist that happens at the end of the book is the only reason I am giving it 4 stars because I didn't see it coming or I didn't want to see it coming.
Everyone gets their HAE which is way better than what happened at the end of Kathleen Turner Series that had several readers upset.
Its the end of a series but nothing I couldn't have lived without. I do plan to read the next series Tiffany Snow writes because I loved her first three Tiffany Snow Series as well as Blank Slate
I loved Blank Slate and wish for more of that than the love triangles.

Motherhood Monday
Last week Doug and I went to Las Vegas for MAGIC in other words Clothing Expo. My parents came to visit bringing there Cocoa a little white Hinze 57 mutt. Very sweet Dog but still a dog and I have two little ones that loves and I mean LOVE dogs and two that are very very scared of Dogs.
As I walked out the door for my trip I watched as my 2 1\2 year old refused to move from his perch on the kitchen table and 5 year old every so often muffling a cry. I walked out the door ready for my 3 days of not once hearing "Mom!" Or having anyone walk into the bathroom demanding my attention and questioning why I am sitting on the mommy thrown.
Three days of fun, peace and spending over and hour showering and getting ready for my day.
However reality came back as I walked into the door and I had to two very tried looking grandparents as well as a little 2 year old who needed his mommy. The next morning I expected we missed you mom instead I got :
9 Year Old: "No! Why does Cocoa and Grandma and pa need to leave? You came home too early."
7 Year old: "Mom can you go away please we need more time."
5 Year old: "My grandma can't leave she needs me to be loved."
2 1\2 year old: He wouldn't let go of me even to eat breakfast.
Later that day
9 year old: "Mom I think it is time we got a Dog."
7 year old: "I want to name our dog Roise." (FYI his or her name will be stinky.)
5 year old: "Where is Cocoa? Where is my grandma? Why did you send her away? Don't you love me?"
2 1\2 year old: "Where Papa? Where Cocoa?"
A few things I have learned about being a mom is:
1. Don't take life IE your kids too serious they love me no matter what.
2. Nothing can replace Grandparents and there undying love.
3. No matter what Sleep is never overrated in fact I can never get enough of it.
4. When leaving a 2 year old who is scared of Dogs make sure the babysitters understand they will be carrying said two year old everywhere.

Opps
I thought I had scheduled Reviews for the three days I was at MAGIC in Las Vegas but I forgot to hit save on the schedule button.
MAGIC isn't what you might thing. It is a Clothing Trade Show for Men, Women and Children that happens every 6 months in Las Vegas. Last time I went I was 6 1\2 months pregnant and walked over 6 miles a day looking at all the new styles for men suits and women's clothing. (3 Years Ago)
It is the best people watching you could possible find and more. The fall fashions are very hippie with the pale tones, or dusty tones. Nothing out there and most of your bright bold colors are slowly going away. As well as workout clothing as every day wear! Wahoo!!
Every part of the country has there own style of clothing and if you think you are an individual in your style trust me you are not!
My parents came to stay with my kiddos so I could get away and enjoy some time off as full time mommy. They already miss them and keep asking when they will be back. So a Big thanks to Grandma and Papa for loving my sweet babies who love them right back.
I will get reviews back up and posted as soon as I am back from birthday party for my 5 year old and school pick up and homework. Life might have moved a little slower while I was gone but it didn't stop.
Las Vegas is crazy as always and a drunk, fat, stinky, scooter driving Elvis threaten to run over my toes if I took a picture of him without paying. Yes he tried to run over my toes which were thankfully covered. Oh on the plus you can look at the ground without seeing naked women for sale. Each hotel pays for the front of the hotels to be cleaned non stop.
However the endless smoking I think took 10 years off my life. YUCK

Review: It pushed the story ahead and I enjoyed it much more than her last book. Temperance’s relationship with Andrew is still iffy, but they spend more time together. This part of the plot seemed contrived, I can’t see me just jetting off to Hawaii because a friend is there. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to. (Anyone out there need a visit in their tropical paradise?) We got to know her daughter a bit better. Jargon heavy, but she explained most of it for the dummies like me out there.
These books are nothing like the TV show
‘Bones’ but the show is based on some of the characters. I enjoy her
writing and I always learn something interesting about the world of
forensic work. The twists and turns in her stories are good, and she
somehow survives some hair rising events each book.
Author Biography: Kathleen
Joan "Kathy" Reichs was born in 1950 and is a native of Chicago. In
1971 she graduated from American University with a Bachelor of Arts
degree in anthropology, and in 1972 she earned a Master of Arts in
physical anthropology from Northwestern University. Reichs received her
Ph.D. in physical anthropology from Northwestern University in 1975.
She works as a forensic anthropologist for the Office of the Chief
Medical Examiner, State of North Carolina and for the Laboratoire des
Sciences Judiciaires et de Médecine Légale in Quebec and has taught at

I picked up this book for free on Amazon because it sounded interesting but soon found other books that took me away from this book. Monday I came across the book again and thought why not.
What kept me from reading this fast moving psychological thriller I have no idea.
From beinging to you the reader is pulled in so many different direction each one darker than the next until the reader and Dr. Cassidy are discovering the truth together.
Judgement is a captivating story that has everything a reader could want and more in a psychological thriller.
Carey Baldwin paints a very Bones type of relationship between Dr. Catlin Cassidy and FBI agent Atticus Spenser. There is sexual attraction but the readers are kept waiting as they work together to find a killer. I loved that Agent Spenser was ADD and had difficultly keeping his mind from wondering. Carey Baldwin make the Special Agent very human and not the typical Alpha Male.
Catlin is struggling as she discovers the truth about her father and her past.
The book can get a little wordy but it makes up for the suspenseful scenes and the very end of the book.
In a nutshell this book is entertaining psychological thriller and I can't wait for more.
I still have no idea what a forensic psychiatrist is.

Girl needs husband in order to make her Grandfather happy. So she

readers interest.

Monday Motherhood
As I have been reflecting how to make the blog a little more fun I decided to start Monday off with a bang.
Life as a mom isn't easy and if you think so than you are not a mom.
When I first became pregnant I had everything figured out and how perfect my children would be. Than number 1 was born and I soon learned quickly I wasn't in control of anything. If I got two hour of sleep during the first year of life I was excited. I still question how we made it to his second birthday sane. (It is still in question.)
As I am blogging, reviewing books I hear my kids talking in the other room playing Minecraft. Yes we came to the darkside and no matter how hard we try to leave we are here forever.
Converation between number 1 (9 years old) and number 2 (7 year old).
Number 1: "Listen I want a fish for a pet."
Number 2: "Cool catch me a fish and I will name him Ivy but than I guess that would be a girl."
Number 1: "Thats a good name."
They keep playing talking about the best way at catch a fish and now they love nature.
SCREAM and I leave my compture to see what horrible thing has happened. I find number 2 on the floor crying and I look at number 1 and ask what happened.
Number 2: "He ate Ivy. I named my fish which means we can't eat it. Remember mom's rule we do not name things we eat otherwise they become real!"
I take Number 1 aside. "Listen catch her another fish and re name it Ivy. Please.
Number 1: "Fine mom!" As number turns back to the game we see one of number 1's dogs is missing. "What did you do?"
Number 2: "You killed and ate my fish. So I killed and ate your dog."
Yup I left the room and simple asked them to work out the problem on their own. Honestly not sure what to think other than I need to explian we do not live by the rule An Eye for an Eye.
Next week the terror of the modern Toddler and all the havoc two little hands can create.

Book Review: Necessary Risk (Bodyguard, #1)

Review:
Necessary Risk isn't really a risk at all. Nothing about this book charming, new or even sets its self apart from all the other book in the suspense romance. This book wasn't really all that suspenseful. I really dislike Sierra because she threw herself at Sean only to rejected over and over again. He tells her its because its his job to protect her and can't protect her if they were together.
There were moments of fun dialogue that kept me hoping it would pick up but it just never could deliver.
This book is reminisce of the movie The Bodyguard so if you fell in love with that movie you will enjoy this book.
I will try this author out again because I did like her writing style just not the story.

Book Review - Elegy - Amanda Hocking Book 4 in the Watersong Series
Title: Elegy

Review:
This is book number 4 in the Watersong series and I think it was a good
ending to the series as a whole. The
sirens could be really scary at times and creepy at others. I don’t think I ever liked them even Thea,
she was weak and let thing happen instead of doing anything about it…at least
until the end and the she did get a back bone…finally.
Notice the page count
and you will see this is a book that will take more than an afternoon to get
through. I think at times it felt long
and drug on…I wish Amanda had cut a bit more out. I found the background interesting, but just
too much information that did not seem relevant to the on-going plot line…interesting
yes…needed no. I love long books, but
every word needs to hold my attention if I am going to read close to 600 pages
in the 4th book in the series.
I don’t want to spoil
it for anyone, but I enjoyed the series and look forward to Amanda’s next
project. This book took a step up from
the teen romance and added sex to the equation which makes me glad my 13 year
old is still on the second book and doesn’t read that fast….I would not
recommend this series to younger than 15 or so, but we went to a book signing
and Cenneidigh insisted she had to read the series after meeting Amanda.
Good series and worth
the time to read if you enjoy young adult romance/supernatural. Mermaids, mythical monsters, goddesses and
the like fill the pages and it was fun to escape to a small seaside town to see
life from a different point of view.

My latest book is
Hollowland - a zombie urban fantasy set in the dystopian near future. It's a
bit more violent and gritter than my other books, but there is still romance.
Mostly though, Remy kicks a lot of butt.
I also enjoy Red Bull,
Jim Henson, Batman, Jane Austen, Star Wars legos, and I absolutely hate long
walks on the beach out of my intense fear/hatred of wet sand
My favorite authors
are Kurt Vonnegut, Chuck Palahniuk, Bret Easton Ellis, Alan Moore, and J. D.
Salinger, but I don't write anything like them. I have an obsession with River
Phoenix, and I've seen Silence of the Lambs more than any other movie, even The
Dark Knight. If I were trapped on a deserted island, the one thing I'd take
with me would be a boat capable for taking me home.
I'm also the guitarist
in a band called the Fraggin Aardvarks, and even though its even twice as cool
as it sounds, we haven't had a practice in like two years, so I'm not sure that
technically we are still a band. But we never broke up, and it's an awesome
thing to tell people, so I'm sticking with it. (We even had a synethesizer!)

Review:
A brilliant story of two women who go through divorce and give each other physical and moral support. You may say what is different about this? Well it is a young lady and her mother-in-law (MIL). The MIL divorced her husband after years of acting like she was not aware of his numerous affairs. When the young lady becomes aware of her husband having an affair she is supported by her MIL. This is a story told by a master story teller and by the final page you will feel like you have known the characters for years. Watch them go from heart ache to new found love. I have rated this book at 5 stars and would recommend it to anyone seeking a heart tugging romance. I received this ARC from Netgalley for my unbiased review.

Book Review: The Flood Girls

Review:
I liked the premise of this book but was disappointed in the presentation. The basic story line was great and well thought out and made for a good story. However, I also thought that some of the characters were just too much over the top and played on people's perceived expectations of the character's sexual orientation/experiences. I gave this book 3.5 stars in the rating system. I received this ARC from Netgalley for my unbiased review.
