Book Review: Hope with Eating Disorders by Lynn Crilly

Hope with Eating Disorders
Title: Hope with Eating Disorders

Author: Lynn Crilly

Stars: 4

Review:
Lynn Crilly is giving families a look into their struggle and what they found along the way.
This isn't for someone who is struggling due to the fact most already know the information and second the have to choose to change.
The author uses the same information that almost every single book discussing eating disorders. Why it starts, how it starts and the fact that those struggling with an eating disorder they don't see what others who love them see.

Hope with Eating Disorders will give reader insight with other who have struggle with the addiction giving readers knowledge that they are not alone in the struggle.

Personal feelings:
I don't agree with eating disorders are not a life sentence and that a full and complete recovery is possible.  As someone who has struggled with an Eating Disorder since I was 12 years old I think you don't overcome or recovery but you learn how to cope better in life.  It isn't a life sentence but it is something that can come back to life when a person least expects it.  It is an addiction.

Synopsis:
Lynn Crilly offers real understanding of the mind-set of someone suffering with an eating disorder, plus an extensive description of the various treatments available for the many and varied types of eating disorders that exist.

About The Author:
Lynn Crilly
I became a counsellor when one of our beautiful daughters fell into the evil trap of Anorexia Nervosa and OCD, at the age of 13. I explored every avenue and source of help, but they were not right for my daughter or us as a family.Watching her disappear before my eyes, and the huge impact it was having on the rest of my family, especially her twin sister, I felt I had no option but to educate myself and learn as much as I could about eating disorders and mental illness.  Some years on, a lot of hard work, determination and many tears shed, and with the unconditional support from close family, friends, our GP and their school, our beautiful girl is now recovered, enjoying life to the full and my family are stronger than ever together.  With my new found knowledge, personal experience and most of all my passion and love; I have been able to use my gift to help others.
