Review:
As a retired criminal investigator I enjoy reading crime mysteries
and this is one of the best I have read in a while. I was born and
raised in a coal mining area and the author's verbal description, of the
initial crime scene, took me back to my childhood. I could see and
smell what was being described like I was there. Dove Carnahan, the
Chief of Police, has a brutal murder to resolve and has a take no
prisoners mindset in doing her job. Her mother was murdered 35 years
previously so this case hits close to home. You will have to read to the
end to grasp the stunning finale and digest it. Does justice always
wear a blindfold?
I gave this book a five star rating.
