Title: The Widow of Larkspur Inn (The Gresham Chronicles Book #1)

Author:  Lawana Blackwell:

Review:  A delightful regency story that does not involve passionate sex and despicable family members.  It was well written and left one feeling that they really knew the characters. It tells the story of a young widow who is forced by her deceased husbands gambling debts to have to leave London and try to provide for her three children and one maid who insists of going with her. It left me looking forward to reading the next book in the series. It takes place in a beautiful part of England and describes a life style as it used to be. It turns out to be a love story with meaning and makes one feel good.

I gave it a 4 star rating.

I obtained the book fromkindlebuffet.com.

Thanks Frank for this review.

Synopsis:  When Life Seemed Its Worst, Gresham Awaited

Julia Hollis' opulent life in Victorian London crashes to pieces when her husband passes away. Worse, she is told by his bankers that he gambled away their fortune. Now, the family's hope rests on The Larkspur, an old abandoned coaching inn in the quaint village of Gresham.

Driven by dread and her desire to provide for her children, Julia decides to turn the dilapidated inn into a lodging house. But can she--who was accustomed to servants attending to every need--do what needs to be done and cope when boarders begin arriving? And then an eligible new vicar moves into town...
