Author Interview with Shawn Lamb, author of Allon series.

My interview with the author of Allon is being upstaged by her most vile character, Draga, creator of the Dark Ways and ruler of the Shadow Warriors.  He is enemies with Kell, the leader of the Guardians.  Jo'rel restricted his movements after his last attempt to take over Allon.  We meet with Draga in his prison in the nether world.

Q:  Mr. Dagar, when you agreed to a place to conduct an interview, I never imagined a nether cave to be so homey.

Dagar:  My leaving is out of the question due the restriction Jo’rel placed upon me – for now. So your coming here was the only option.

Q: Dimension travel is rather difficult, how do you manage it? For that matter how do you communicate with the real dimension?

Dagar: Dimension travel isn’t for mortals. Your fragile bodies are incapable of transcending time and space. Guardians are spirits trapped in a physical body in hopes of performing our duty. As for communication, this talisman connects me to Latham while the basin and sod provides a link to the real world.

Q: Isn’t Jor’el’s punishment for your rebellion permanent?

Dagar: No! This is a temporary inconvenience. The Dark Way is firmly entrenched and when my time comes, I will complete what I started.

Q: Won’t Captain Kell have something to say about it?

Dagar: Never say that name in my presence! The infamous captain is the one I hold responsible for my present state. When he and I meet again, he will be destroyed! Along with the rest of the Guardians and mortals.

Q: I thought Jor’el confined you to the nether cave not the captain?

Dagar: Jor’el did, but he wounded me and prevented my escape.

Q: So why destroy the mortals if your anger is against Jor’el and the captain?

Dagar: Because I can. It is infuriating to be one of the most powerful beings in existence and reduced to helping pitiful, spineless and fickle creates as mortals. The ultimate revenge is destroying everything meaningful to the enemy.

Q: So there is nothing you miss or regret about the past or your position as the Guardian responsible for protecting Jor’el’s Temple?

Dagar: Only that I didn’t succeed in killing the captain the first time.

Q: What about prophecy concerning the Son of Tristan and the Daughter of Allon?  He is Jor’el’s chosen and she is to help the Guardians return. Won’t they provide a hindrance to your plan?

Dagar: They are insignificant. All mortals can do is think they succeed by hurting us.  They can’t kill us. They will fall, and Allon’s last hope and the Guardians will be gone!

Q:  Draga I would like to thank you for your time and hope that you do not succeed in your evil plans, I am after all only a mortal.  Now how do I get out of here?

My thanks go out to the author of Allon , Shawn Lamb, and I hope you will take the time to read her books.  Please take a moment to enter the kingdom of Allon.

I will be giving away my review copy of Allon, the first book in the series, at the 1st Easter Hop.  Come back to enter tomorrow.  Thanks to my readers and again to Shawn Lamb.

Here is a Youtube spot on why she wrote the book in the first place.

  4. Interesting premise! Although I am unfamiliar with this book and, therefore, this character, my initial thought is Draga is a very angry "individual" who just needs someone to love him!
