Why I Read It: Lisa: We needed a book on CD for a car trip and David picked this one out.
Where I Obtained the Book: Off the shelf at my local library.

Review: Lisa: This book took a bit to grab me, but the kids listened quietly, making the car trip more enjoyable. They kept asking, when we started driving again, ‘Turn it on’. That’s always a good sign that they’re listening. The story was interesting and the descriptions of the Underland made beautiful pictures in my head.
I really enjoyed the next four books and was disappointed to come to the end of the series, I still hope she writes more about Gregor(she left it wide open for more). He’s full of life and only wants to be normal and happy. The story was fast and interesting. I loved the characters and I think we all wonder if there is something out there were not aware of. Do animals talk when we leave the room? I wonder.
Author Biography: Since 1991, Suzanne Collins has been busy writing for children’s television. She has worked on the staffs of several Nickelodeon shows, including the Emmy-nominated hit Clarissa Explains it All and The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo. For preschool viewers, she penned multiple stories for the Emmy-nominated Little Bear and Oswald. She also co-wrote the critically acclaimed Rankin/Bass Christmas special, Santa, Baby! Most recently she was the Head Writer for Scholastic Entertainment’sClifford’s Puppy Days.
While working on a Kids WB show called Generation O! she met children’s author James Proimos, who talked her into giving children’s books a try.
