Book Review: Blood & Ash (The Jezebel Files #1) by Deborah Wilde

Blood & Ash (The Jezebel Files, #1)
Title: Blood & Ash (The Jezebel Files #1)

Author: Deborah Wilde

Stars: 3 1\2

Review:
This is the first in a series but it stars up as if readers have met the characters before.  The story works but it feels like things are missing or the story is in need of better editing. This reviewer is unsure of what is needed.
The story is interesting and flows quickly at times humors and other times head scratching wondering what I might have missed.  The scene doesn't quite fit in or at least it should have waiting maybe for another book.
When the author has Ashira reveal what is going on it is fast, quick and wishing the final battle lasted longer.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of Deborah Wilde Blood and Ash.

Synopsis:
Ashira Cohen takes pride in being the only female private investigator in Vancouver. With her skills, her missing persons case should be a piece of cake.

She wasn’t counting on getting bashed in the skull, revealing a hidden tattoo and supernatural powers she shouldn’t possess.

Or the bitter icing on top: a spree of abductions and terrifying ghostly creatures on a deadly bender.

And don’t even get her started on the golems.

Reluctantly partnered with her long-time nemesis Levi, the infuriating leader of the magic community, Ash resolves to keep her focus on the clue trail and off their sexual tension because WTF is up with that?

But with a mastermind organization pulling strings from the shadows and Levi’s arrogance driving her to pick out his body bag, can Ash rescue the captives and uncover the truth or will the next blood spilled be her own?

About The Author:
A global wanderer, hopeless romantic, and total cynic with a broken edit button, Deborah writes urban fantasy to satisfy her love of smexy romances and tales of chicks who kick ass. This award-winning author is all about the happily-ever-after, with a huge dose of hilarity along the way. “It takes a bad girl to fight evil. Go Wilde.”

Just released book 5 of my Unlikeable Demon Hunter books and it is with excitement, trepidation, and sadness that I bring it to a conclusion in book 6, which will hopefully be out in early 2019.
