Book Review: Taming Fire (Braving the Heat #2) by Leora Gonzales

Taming Fire (Braving the Heat, #2)
Title: Taming Fire (Braving the Heat #2)

Author:  Leora Gonzales

Stars: 3 1/2 stars out of 5

Review:

Taming Fire has it moments where readers will find they enjoy the story and it has great potential but than fails to delivery many times.  The story goes from meeting to him moving and living the Happily Ever After in such a short spanned of pages that the story felt rushed when it could have been so much more.
Louise Pine is such a push over with very little backbone that it hard to root for her. Phoenix “Nix” Jones wants what his friends have but instead of taking the time to get to know her he just tells here everything he wants.  Yes she does the whole "You didn't ask you just told me." But it just lack any type of humor I think the author was going for.
The story felt rushed with very little thought other than write a story and get it out there.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of Leora Gonzales Taming Fire

The Story has potential but doesn't delivery on what could have been a great romance.

Synopsis:
Yoga instructor Louise Pine is the ultimate caretaker. Everyone around her seems to have an emergency, but Lou hasn’t met a fire she couldn’t put out—until she’s faced with the hunky, bossy firefighter who crashes into her own backyard—and her life. No one tells Lou what to do, yet somehow the guy’s take-charge style makes her tingle . . .

Phoenix “Nix” Jones is used to calling the shots, whether he’s dealing with his younger siblings or taking on a dangerous blaze. Luckily, the fire at Lou’s is a false alarm. But the heat the fit and feisty woman ignites is far from dying out . . .

As the sparks turn into 5-alarm passion, can two strong-willed people end up engulfed by love—or will they crash and burn?

About The Author:
Leora Gonzales
I am originally from Kansas and love the area even though I am now located in Florida.

I started writing last year after plotting a story line in my head and having it slowly drive me insane. I am a HUGE reader and my tastes vary from MC to historical so there is a pretty broad range of books that I adore.

Writing for me was not easy. I have some college under my belt but had never really taken any writing courses so the process started out with simply getting a story on paper. From there, I handed it over to my husband for editing and the rest is history. (side note-I still get twitchy when I see him with a red pen.)
