Title: Catfished (A Rylie Cooper Mystery, #1)
Author: Stella Bixby
Stars: 4 stars
Review:
Catfished had me laughing out loud. It hits every single stereotype a book could cover from cheating husband to the other woman.
Its a fast pace cozy mystery readers can enjoy. Just don't take the story serious it is meant to be fun and poke fun.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for the advance copy of Catfished
by Stella Bixby
Synopsis:
Rylie’s life has hit a serious snag. Cheated on, lied to, and suddenly homeless and unemployed, her entire world has capsized. All that’s left to do is cut line, start over, and move into her parents’ basement . . . temporarily.
Bring on the boomerang jokes.
The perfect solution to all of her problems could be a job as an urban park ranger⎯whatever that is. But finding a dead body stuck in a catfish trap on her first shift leaves her wondering if she’s waded in a little too deep.
If it wasn’t for the appearance of Luke Hannah⎯the lead investigator on the case and her first love⎯she may have cut her losses and returned to the help wanted ads. But now Rylie is determined to prove herself . . . in more ways than one.
When the authorities pin the murder on the wrong man, Rylie casts out to catch the real killer and clear the innocent man’s name⎯at the risk of losing her job or even becoming catfish bait herself.
Perfect for fans of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series, Catfished, the first book in the Rylie Cooper Mystery series, is a witty murder mystery baited with snarky humor and a hint of romance.

Book Review:Spies, Lies, and Allies by Lisa Brown Roberts
Title: Spies, Lies, and Allies
Author: Lisa Brown Roberts
Star: 4 stars
Review:
This is the first book I have read by Lisa Brown Roberts. The story is filled with "geeky references" from Star Wars to Harry Potter that readers will either love for hate. At times the reference were just a bit too much and started to bog down the story. With the one liners that bogged down the story it didn't really start to pick up until half way though. Which is why Spies, Lies, and Allies by Lisa Brown Roberts gets 4 stars instead of 3.
The characters start to come to life with a friendship and romance that readers will enjoy. The story is cheese, sweet and fun read that readers will be able to read sitting by the pool soaking up the sun.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher Entangled: Teen for the advance copy of Lisa Brown Roberts Spies, Lies, and Allies
Synopsis:
Summers are supposed to be fun, right? Not mine. I’ve got a job at my dad’s company, which is sponsoring a college scholarship competition. I just found out that, in addition to my job assisting the competing interns, I’m supposed to vote for the winner. Totally not what I signed up for.
There’s a crazy guy running the competition like it’s an episode of Survivor. Then there’s Carlos, who is, well, very distracting –– in a good way. But I can’t even think about him that way because Crazy Guy says any fraternizing on the job means instant disqualification for the intern involved.
As if that’s not enough, an anonymous weirdo with insider intel is trying to sabotage my dad’s company on social media…and I’m afraid it’s working.
Much as I’d love to quit, I can’t. Kristoffs Never Quit is our family motto. I just hope there’s more than one survivor by the end of this summer.
About The Author:
Lisa Brown Roberts still hasn't recovered from the teenage trauma of nearly tweezing off both eyebrows and having to pencil them in for an entire school year. This and other angst-filled memories inspire her to write YA books about navigating life's painful and funny dramas, and falling in love along the way.
For sneak peeks, surprise

Book Review: Judy Moody (Judy Moody #1) by Megan McDonald, Peter H. Reynolds Illustrator
Title: Judy Moody (Judy Moody #1)
Author: Megan McDonald, Peter H. Reynolds Illustrator
Stars: 5 stars
Review:
The review is from my 8 year old daughter who read the book in a day.
I like how she is first starting 3rd grade which is the same as me. She is a silly characters that make a me special project all about herself. I was able to relate to the character of Judy Moody which is good for girls going into 3rd grade.
I loved the book and it is a good book for all ages. I didn't dislike anything.
Synopsis
To start, Judy Moody doesn't have high hopes for third grade. Her new desk won't have an armadillo sticker with her name on it. Her new classroom will not have a porcupine named Roger. And with her luck, she'll get stuck sitting in the first row, where Mr. Todd will notice every time she tries to pass a note to her best friend, Rocky. An aspiring doctor, Judy does have a little brother who comes in handy for practicing medicine, a cool new pet, and a huge Band-Aid collection.
Judy also has an abundance of individuality and attitude, and when Mr. Todd assigns a very special class project, she really gets a chance to express herself! Megan McDonald's spirited text and Peter Reynolds's wry illustrations combine in a feisty, funny first chapter book for every kid who has ever felt a little out of sorts.
About The Author:
For Megan McDonald, being able to speak up for herself wasn't always easy. She grew up as the youngest of five sisters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her father, an ironworker, was known to his coworkers as "Little Johnny the Storyteller." Every evening at dinner the McDonalds would gather to talk and tell stories, but Megan McDonald was barely able to get a word in edgewise. "I'm told I began to stutter," she says, leading her mother to give her a notebook so she could start "writing things down."
Critically acclaimed, the Judy Moody books have won numerous awards, ranging from a PUBLISHERS WEEKLY Best Book of the Year to an International Reading Association Children's Choice. "Judy has taken on a life of her own," the author notes, with nearly 3 million Judy Moody books in print. Interestingly, the feisty third-grader is highly popular with boys and girls, making for a strong base of fans who are among Megan McDonald's strongest incentives to keep writing, along with "too many ideas and a little chocolate." And now -- by popular demand -- Judy Moody's little brother, Stink, gets his chance to star in his own adventures! Beginning with STINK: THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING KID, three more stories, and his own encyclopedia, STINK-O-PEDIA, Stink's special style comes through loud and strong -- enhanced by a series of comic strips, drawn by Stink himself, which are sprinkled throughout the first book. About the need for a book all about Stink, Megan McDonald says, "Once, while I was visiting a class full of Judy Moody readers, the kids, many with spiked hair à la Judy's little brother, chanted, 'Stink! Stink! Stink! Stink! Stink!' as I entered the room. In that moment, I knew that Stink had to have a book all his own."
More recently, Megan McDonald has recalled some of her own childhood with the warmth, humor -- and squabbles -- of three spunky sisters in THE SISTERS CLUB.
Megan McDonald and her husband live in Sebastopol, California, with two dogs, two adopted

Book Review: The Rake's Challenge by Beth Elliott
Title: The Rake's Challenge
Author: Beth Elliott
Stars: 5 stars
Review:
The story that is exceptionally well told by an author who does not have to resort to sex to sell the plot. The storyline was realistic and made for easy reading. It was as if you were sitting on the side watching the tale unfold. I enjoyed this book from start to finish.
I have rated this book 5stars.
I obtained this book from Amazon in Kindle format.
Thank you Frank for your review.
Giles Maltravers has his rakish lifestyle turned upside down the day he saves Anna Lawrence from a pair of drunken young bloods. The irony is that Giles is now honour bound to protect this headstrong girl.
Inspired by a fervent devotion to the works of Lord Byron, Anna is determined to live a life of adventure, but she plunges from one disaster into another. Giles has no time left to enjoy his former pleasures, especially when the Prince Regent decides that Anna is just in his style.
About The Author:
Beth grew up in a tiny village on the flat, flat Lancashire plain. Holidays were spent with her grandmother in the wild hills of mid-Wales. These contrasts helped her imagination to develop, and her Celtic heritage means she has a vivid imagination and an ear for rythym and patterns in words.
She began making up stories from before she could write them down, casting the people and places she saw into her own version of a tale she had heard. Later, her stories were usually continuations of novels she had read but which finished 'too soon'. And she always loved 'Long ago and far away' best for setting a story.
She is very fond of travelling, especially in Mediterranean countries, and often sets her tales at least partly in these lands.

Author: Piper J. Drake

Piper Drake has the ability to bring readers into a fast pace adventure where they don't want it to stop even after they read the last page.
Total Bravery is another win for Piper Drake. The author has well research her topic to under how animals are handled by their trainers keep the story grounded during action pack scenes. There is romance, sex with this book which doesn't add to the story but doesn't subtract either. The story is told from Raul and Mali points of view. Which gives you insight into everyone inner thought that sometimes slows down the fast pace story.
Even though the book is number 4 in a series readers will not be lost. You will be pulled into a world where you are afraid if you put the book down something awful will happen to your favorite characters.

Book Review: Wanted For Life by Allison B. Hanson
Title: Wanted For Life
Author: Allison B. Hanson
Star: 5
Review:
This is the second book I have read in the series Love Under Fire. If you read my review of Witness In the Dark than you know I didn't care much for the book.
Wanted for Life is similar to Witness in the The Dark. However this time the author is able to better her vision to life without using over the top cliche. The story has better pacing that will keep from flipping pages to discover the mystery killer.
Allison Hanson takes a very dark and twisted past story and bring it to the light giving the demons of the past very little power for the future that Angel had always wanted. The story will have readers remember our past do not define us but help make us stronger if we fight. If we live in the past you can't move forward. Angel and Colton learn grow and find how to balance the part with the future in a way readers will want more after the story has ended.
Wanted For life has a strong beginning, mix of action, romance character building in the middle and a great ending that will have readers satisfied. Wanted For life is better paced them the previous story, less cliche, and witty humor. The perfect blend for a romantic suspense story.
Allison B. Hanson's Wanted For Life is part of a series. This story can be read as a stand alone novel.
I can't wait to see what the author has next for the characters in the Love Under Fire Series.

Book Review: Forbidden (House of Sin #1) by Elisabeth Naughton
Title: Forbidden (House of Sin #1)
Author: Elisabeth Naughton
Stars: 3
Review:
This isn't the first book I have read by Elisabeth Naughton.
Forbidden is the first in a 3 book series that follow two main characters into a dark world or possession, obsession and Sex.
Trust me I understand the series is called House of Sin but still the story disappeared and is replaced with graphic sex scenes readers will either flip though or enjoy.
Before anyone picks up the book they are warned in a blurb "**WARNING!**
This book is very sexy, very dark, and very addictive! Contains consensual kink and a dark and dominant hero with a dangerous secret. This is a big story that can't be told in only one book so there is a cliffhanger"
The story is interesting but the erotic sex scene take away from whatever story you might to be reading to the point readers will be flipping though at least 75% of the book to find the story and the dark hidden secret.
I was disappointed not with the sex scenes while there were many and readers will need a glass of water and a window open. The main story didn't pick up until the last 10% of the book. We were give two points of view and yet we didn't learn anything about the family until the last part of the book which ends in a cliff hanger.
I wish the story not the sex was the main focus of Forbidden. That being said the writing is well done and everything is paced well throughout the book
Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for the advance copy of Forbidden
by Elisabeth Naughton
Synopsis:
he has no idea what lurks behind the forbidden doors of the House of Sin...
He is temptation. Forbidden fruit. A craving I can’t seem to resist.
I went after him in search of answers, certain he had blood on his hands. Now I’ve fallen prey to his seductive looks and commanding charisma.
I know he is a threat. He's entwined in a dangerous world I don't understand. But even that doesn’t stop me from aching for his touch, for the taste of his wicked lips.
Before I can truly surrender to the fire smoldering between us, I need to know more. I have to see behind the doors he keeps firmly locked.
I need to discover what he's hiding in the shadowy world known as the House of Sin...
**WARNING!**
This book is very sexy, very dark, and very addictive! Contains consensual kink and a dark and dominant hero with a dangerous secret. This is a big story that can't be told in only one book so there is a cliffhanger - but never fear, book two releases three weeks later. The release schedule is as follows:

DECEIVED -- Book 2 -- May 15, 2018

Book Review: Nourish: How to Heal Your Relationship with Food, Body, and Self by Heidi Schauster
Title Nourish: How to Heal Your Relationship with Food, Body, and Self
Author: Heidi Schauster, MS, RDN, CEDRD-S,
Stars: 5
Review:
Words can no express how much this book should be apart of anyone with any kind of eating disorder Therapy.
I cried, I laughed and I realized I have so much more work ahead. Healing isn't a time table it is steps and Nourish has wonderful steps and a author has a good since of humor. She isn't shaming, or telling you want to do and said stated "Take this with a grain of Salt."
This a person who is surviving an eating disorder since the age of 12 years old this book is nothing new. It wasn't until I was married with children of my own did I realize my how unhealthy my relationship with food has been and will be until I stop it. This message isn't anything new if you have been to therapy for any type of eating disorder over, under ect.
This book sets itself apart with the Dr Heidi Schauster who lets readers know she makes mistakes and take everything she has written with a grain of salt. She had and I assume still has issues with food which makes this book set apart from all the other over and under eating books because she has the fight too. Heidi makes it real, there is no shaming, disagree when you fight with your personal demons. Its apart of life that reads will need to work on with the different steps she present.
The Author makes many reference to other books within her book and I plan to pick up a few of those as well.
As a blogger I read this book from cover to cover . It hit me like a ton of bricks even after 3 years in therapy and another 4 with a different therapy I still do not like food. The author ask a lot of questions but the one I didn't realize I hadn't ask my self WHAT do I want to eat? No what I think I should eat or what calories I can consume and be ok with. She has readers ask themselves When you think of chocolate cake is it Celebration or Punishment?
I dread that work my husband celebrates when he hears that word. This book put into words how I feel about food with quotes, diagrams, ideas, suggestions and concepts that I need to work on daily to find peace with my body, food and self.
I am starting this book over to work on the different steps. I can tell you Step 5 is the beginning of the harder steps.
Thank you to publisher for asking me to read this book and review it. I can be honest it has changed my life and my therapist is picking up a copy as well.
This is my honest review.

Book Review: One Last Breath by Lisa Jackson and Nancy Bush
Title: One Last Breath
Author(S) Lisa Jackson and Nancy Bush
Star: 3
Review:
One Last Breathe pulls readers in but soon puts them to sleep as the story drags on until almost the end of the story than it picks up once again. The problem is getting though the slow parts of the book.
The characters are flat and have very little interest to keep this reader wanting more. Pushing though the story finding that Rory isn't feisty but the female lead you start to hate. Instead of going to the man she "Loves" she runs away to the point it becomes an eye rolling scenes.
One Last Breath isn't much more than a blip on the spring to read pile.

About The Author:(S)
Lisa Jackson is the number-one New York Timesbestselling author of more than 85 novels, including Afraid to Die, Tell Me, You Don’t Want to Know, Running Scared, Without Mercy, Malice, and Shiver. She is also the co-author of the Colony Series, co-written with her sister, Nancy Bush. There are over 20 million copies of Lisa Jackson’s books in print in twenty languages.
Before she became a nationally bestselling author, Lisa Jackson was a mother struggling to keep food on the table by writing novels, hoping against hope that someone would pay her for them. Today, neck deep in murder, her books appear on The New York Times, the USA Today, and the Publishers Weekly national bestseller lists.
With over thirty bestsellers to her name, Lisa Jackson is a master of taking readers to the edge of sanity – and back – in novels that buzz with dangerous secrets and deadly passions. She continues to be fascinated by the minds and motives of both her killers and their pursuers—the personal, the professional and downright twisted. As she builds the puzzle of relationships, actions, clues, lies and personal histories that haunt her protagonists, she must also confront the fear and terror faced by her victims, and the harsh and enduring truth that, in the real world, terror and madness touch far too many lives and families.
Bestselling author Nancy Bush has had an eclectic writing career. She started her first story when she heard how young mothers were making money writing romance novels. She thought, “I can do that,” and talked her sister, bestselling author, Lisa Jackson, into joining her in her foray into writing. At the time Nancy was a young mother herself. Now, she says she's just…a mother.
Nancy began her career in the romance genre, writing both contemporary and historical novels, but being a mystery buff, she kept trying to add suspense into the plot, as much as her editors would allow. In 2002 she was chosen by ABC Television to be part of a writing group “think tank” which was tasked with developing story for ABC's daytime dramas. She was one of two people selected from that group to actually become a breakdown writer for, at the time, one of ABC's top-rated daytime shows: ALL MY CHILDREN. Nancy made the move to New York to join the AMC team while she was writing for the soap. That was an experience, she admits. Ask her, and she'll swear that the pressure cooker of delivering story every day – lots and lots of story -- helped focus her writing.
When Nancy returned to her home state of Oregon she channeled that newfound energy into writing the kind of books she's always loved: mysteries. She wrote three Jane Kelly Mystery novels in the space of three years, and has another one currently in proposal form. The last several years she's turned her attention to romantic suspense novels, writing both with her sister and on her own. Like Lisa, sh e's now a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, both in her co-writing ventures and on her own merits as well.
Nancy's latest project? Summer 2012 is the kick off for her newest suspense series with NOWHERE TO RUN debuting in August and NOWHERE TO HIDE in September. A third ‘Nowhere' book is scheduled for next year.
Nancy has recently received the rights back to many of her earlier novels and the Danner Quartet, one of her most beloved series, is available again in e-book form. LADY SUNDOWN, MIRACLE JONES, JESSE'S RENEGADE and SCANDAL'S DARLING follow the ups and downs of the irrepressible Danner family in turn of the century Oregon. Nancy also has a number of contemporary romances that have been updated and reformatted and now have new life as e-books. Look for THE PRINCESS AND THE PAUPER, DEAR DIARY, and the Summer Lovin' Duets: SUMMERTIME BLUES and IMAGINARY LOVER along with many more in the coming months.

Book Review: Save Me (Corrupted Hearts #4) by Tiffany Snow
Title: Save Me (Corrupted Hearts #4)
Author: Tiffany Snow
Stars: 4 stars
Review:
Honest and up front I have read everything Tiffany Snow has written either from Advance Copies or from finding it by accident 8 years ago pregnant with my daughter who kept me up all night kicking my little bladder.
I still have a favorite of her books and it is completely different from all the series that she has written. Blank Slate.
The author loves loves LOVE triangles and this story isn't any different. Readers will be taken though the romance between, China, Jackson and Clark.
Readers will enjoy the goofy humor, laugh out loud awkward moments and the end of this series.
The actions is fast pace the mystery well written and the romance hot and heavy. Everything readers have come to love from Tiffany Snow books.
Thank you to the author, publisher Montlake Romance and Netgalley for the advance copy of Tiffany Snow Save Me

Kindle Edition, 1st edition, 264 pages
Expected publication: April 17th 2018 by Montlake Romance
I love to stick with characters over a series of books when I read, which is the same way I write. The Kathleen Turner Series, Risky Business Series, Tangled Ivy Trilogy, and now the Corrupted Hearts Series all feature continuing characters. My latest novel, FOLLOW ME, is book one in the Corrupted Hearts Series with China Mack--the most unlikely of heroines. BREAK ME, book two, will be out in March, 2017.
As for me, I've been reading romance novels since I was way too young to read such things, have an unhealthy obsession for all things Doctor Who, prefer Pepsi to Coke and Absolut to both, think men who drink girly cocktails are wusses, have learned to never stop believing in my beloved St. Louis Cardinals, and can recite the entire scripts of When Harry Met Sally and Apollo 13. George Washington is cool, Bon Jovi still rocks the house, and Bruce Willis is the ultimate alpha-male hero. Most of all, romance never, ever gets old.

The introduction of a quirky duo of crime fighters in central London. Cassie, who was set to become an orthopedic surgeon, before her career and life were ruined in a vehicle accident has moved to London to try and restart her life. After, she goes to the Police to report a stolen bicycle, she meets a very madcap french woman and embarks on an investigation to solve 4 murders. Think of a brilliant female investigator with all of the deduction skills of the fabled Sherlock Holmes. This is what Violet brings to the table to compliment Cassie's medical knowledge. I was entertained from beginning to end.
I have rated this book 4 stars.
I obtained this book from Amazon in Kindle format.
Thank you Frank for your review.
When Cassie Coburn moved to London, she never thought she'd be involved in a quadruple homicide.
After a car accident ended her medical career before it even started, Cassie moved to London on a whim, expecting to see the sights and live the typical tourist backpacker lifestyle.
Instead she finds herself accompanying a French private detective, Violet Despuis, as they attempt to find out who poisoned four people in the middle of London.
Cassie's life soon includes this crazy detective, an ancient landlady with a curious past, a mischeivous orange cat who likes going for walks on a leash, and a super hot pathologist that Cassie is sure is out of her league.
And they haven't even found the murderer yet...

When several major political figures die mysteriously, officials declare the deaths are from natural causes. The truth becomes clear - these high-profile deaths are well-constructed assassinations, and the Covert Eyes team is tasked to investigate.
With the help of Dr Isabella Marin, a young expert in the enigmatic Voynich Manuscript and cryptophasia (twin language), Nicholas and Michaela home in on Roman Ardelean, a wealthy cybersecurity genius and a descendant of fifteenth century Romanian Vlad the Impaler - often romanticised as Dracula. Ardelean believes the Voynich Manuscript will unlock the secret to curing his severely ill twin brother’s blood disorder and is willing to murder anyone who gets in his way, including Nicholas and Michaela.
Along with MI5, the Covert Eyes team must race against the clock to find Ardelean before he unleashes a devastating attack on London intended to destroy those he believes betrayed him.
